Yes thin hair is the way to do that style. If you don't get it thinned you'll have more of a poof or a ball. So yeah get it thinned.

it all depends on the cut, most people i know have thick hair, but most of theirs is really long, if youre getting layers, its going to be thined out alot, and most scene hair is all jsut layers with a cool way of styling it so yeah
