Is Sun-in more damaging than regular hair dye?

My natural hair colour is medium/light goldish brown. I used Sun-in for a few years and loved the beautiful golden caramel colour it brought out in my hair...it looks very natural on me. I usually touch up the roots every 4 months or so, but my hair is very thin and I've been told that Sun-in will just make my thin hair problem worse because of the peroxide in it. Would switching to regualr hair dye be any less damaging than Sun-in?

Because Sun-in looks so natural on me, I don't need to touch up the roots too often, so that's why I've been chosing it over regualr hair dyes.

No...anything with peroxide is damaging to your hair, regular hair dye has peroxide too. You need to make sure that you condition regularly and trim. You are lucky that it gives you the color you desire...so many people have ended up with orange hair!

As for making your thin hair problem worse...only if you over do and cause breakage..ie., constant use of the product and not conditioning...heat stylers and brushing it when wet..always use a wide tooth comb...please

no sun in is a natural prduct and is better than other dyes if you think it is bad then use a natrual product like lemin juice or beet juice. but sun in is ok

I hate Sun-In!! THE COLOR OF IT IS SO UGLY!!!!!!!!!!!

I am not sure if it is more harmful to your hair than dye. However both hair dye and Sun-In has bleach, which causes hair to become brittle. Therefore, neither is good for your hair.

I say go for whatever you feel comfortable...just be sure to use conditioner!

Good luck and take care! :D

i used sun in once--turned my hair orange. never again!!!!!!

well, dye, bleach and sun in are all different. and hair dye, is better than bleach or sun-in. but if you are lightening your hair you will be using bleach. for a good opinion go to sallys and ask a color specialist what would be best. maybe you just want to do highlights, then you wont be damaging all of your hair.
