My hair actually FALLS OUT .. why?

lately in the shower my hair has been falling out a lot .. and i mean A LOT i have hypothyroidism and i know that's part of it but it's just getting really annoying since i hate thin hair, any advice or products on how to make hair less weak and breakable?

My hair actually FALLS OUT .. why?

ok so if your hair falls out that might mean that you use too much conditionar, try using conditionar every other day (and remember to use very little). next; try getting shampoo that boosts up your volume and dont get shampoo that says "specially for thick, oily hair", because it will just make it thinner. If you want to take medicine then i think biotin would be the best choice; it helps with skin and promotes hair health, but make sure that you aren't allergic to the drug, so read the label first, you can buy it anywhere over the counter!!! and make sure your thyrod function is okay, and if you have any other symptom like joint pain or any skin rash, you should see a doctor, because this is a systemic disease.

My hair actually FALLS OUT .. why?

well, it is normal for 100 hairs to fall out of everybody's head every day. now, sometimes, the hairs fall out of the scalp, but are still "somewhere" in your hair. so, when you comb it or take a shower, it seems as if a lot more is falling out, when it is just the ones from the past. and thin hair is not that bad. my hair is thick, and i mean too thick, it is poofy and thick and its just ugly.

Pantene Restoratives. Ask a doctor on your hypothroidism what to expect health wise.

Everyone loses between 40 %26amp; 120 strands a day, depending on how much hair you have, your age %26amp; your hair's growth cycle. People with fine hair tend to have more of it %26amp; therefore will lose more of it than their thicker-haired sisters %26amp; brothers. Your hair also thins as you get older, particularly after menopause for women, but the thinning will stop %26amp; not continue as it will for men.

Here are common causes of hair loss:

1. Seasonality. You'll lose the most hair in the fall -- typically November and December when hair reaches maturity in its growth cycle.

2. Diet. Hair loss can occur through poor dieting, tight ponytails, even with age. According to dermatologist George Cotsarelis, M.D., director of the University of Pennsylvania Hair and Scalp Clinic, iron deficiency may be the cause. He states in the April 2006 issue of 'Ladies Home Journal,' it might be worth checking your levels with your doctor %26amp; take a supplement if they're low.

3. Pregnancy Some women experience hair loss with pregnancy or as part of post-pregnancy hormonal changes. Other women experience hair loss when going on or off (usually off) the birth control pill.

4. Illness Sometimes it happens as a result of illness. Even stress, excessive weight loss, iron deficiency %26amp; thyroid problems can cause hair loss.

If you're really worried, ask your doctor, however, experts say you really only need to worry if your part is getting wider or you can see your scalp through your hair. But don't worry, not all hair loss is permanent. There is a specialty doctor called a 'trichologist,' an expert in hair problems. You can make an appointment and ask the doc for a diagnosis.

Extra tip: If you're a woman you won't experience male-pattern baldness. Women's hair tends to thin all over. The only FDA-approved hair loss treatment for women is Minoxidil, according to scalp specialist David Kingsley, PhD, in the November, 2005 issue of 'O' magazine. Minoxidil works in 60-70 percent of cases by improving the follicle's ability to produce hair, Kingsley said.

I had a friend who started getting bald spots at the age of 16, so had way to much stress in her life. You might want to contact you doctor and ask what to do to help you out.

About 50 to 100 milligrams a day of vitamin B6 for one or two months helps decrease hair fall. A medicine rich in sulfur is also recommended as sulfur plays an important part in the structure of the hair. Check out
