What color should i dye my hair?

my natural hair color is black. But it's not jet black, it's sorta light black and i have thin hair. My hair color right now is light brown with blonde highlights and my roots have grown about 1.5 inches. I really want a color that is dark but not like black. I want something like dark brown. i dont want to dye it black b/c i look gothic and i dont look good with black hair. Any suggestions? The color of my hair now is like thishttp://www.flickr.com/photos/mcnphoto/57...

Be cautious about using red tones on dark brown hair. It can end up turning a lovely shade of burgundy which does not appear to be what you want. A medium golden brown will give you the basic color in the photo, but expect it to vary from the shade on the box depending on your natural highlights and color. Your previously colored locks will take color more quickly than your natural hair because it is more porous, and it will likely have a slightly different final color.

Put some Auburn in it.. brunettes look good with some red in their hair in my humble opinion.

None of them will make you look like Jessica Alba, fyi.

Hazelnut is more for you and maybe get a highlight kit with a slightly lighter brown. That'll help you get your look.

Dark brown with ash brown highlights.

There are alot of dark brown dyes out there with red, burgandy and mauve tones in them. I would pick one you like, but on you I think the burgandy, brown would look nice (wine red). The highlights will just be a little brighter than the rest of your hair, but it will blend the roots and give a nice affect.
