my natural hair color is black. But it's not jet black, it's sorta light black and i have thin hair. My hair color right now is light brown with blonde highlights and my roots have grown about 1.5 inches. I really want a color that is dark but not like black. Be cautious about using red tones on dark brown hair. It can end up turning a lovely shade of burgundy which does not appear to be what you want. There are alot of dark brown dyes out there with red, burgandy and mauve tones in them. I would pick one you like, but on you I think the burgandy, brown would look nice (wine red). The highlights will just be a little brighter than the rest of your hair, but it will blend the roots and give a nice affect.
