Hair perming, results?

i have straight thin hair, i want to get a perm, just to have WAVY hair, not tight curls, is that possible? whats it called? and how much is it going to hurt my hair? any experience advice would help also!

well, yes it can be done to get it wavy, you just need to take care of it alot because perms take the moisture out of your hair, and make it very dry and you need to take into account that as your hair grows out so does your perm so as your grows you will have your roots of your naturally straight hair and the rest the waves.... Deep condition your hair once a week so that when you do get that perm, your hair is in good condition and keep conditioning it afterwards to keep the hair soft and shiney.... Goodluck

It's called a wave perm, hope that helps you. Have a wonderful day!
