Does hair grow any different after you get it thinned?

If I were to get my hair thinned for a while then decided not to do it anymore, would this leave my hair looking funny? Would it grow back just like normal without any noticeable layers? It wouldn't be like thicker in one part than another would it? Any help would be great. Thanks. (I have got it thinned before but that was years ago.)

Thinning does not cause noticeable layers but looks more natural as it's cut at different lengths much like your own hair's natural life cycle. You will always have hair at different and staggered lengths thinned or not. All that hair in your brush is mostly from hair that's died and dropped out. The remaining follicle might not produce a hair for 1-2 years later (or sooner) than the growth cycle begins again. Result: hairs of many lengths.......like thinned!!!!

I have curly hair and just thinned it a month ago.It isn't going too well.Maybe it is because my hair is frizzy or curly. After I thinned it,the scalp area is thicker but the bottom is so thin. Not a good idea.So if your hair is thick, curly and frizzy then you might consider cutting it instaed of thinning it.

You will have some hair that grows out shorter than others because thinning removes some, not all of the hairs shorter than the others. The notches in the thinning shears or razor is what determines how much, that and how much your stylist thins it and where. It should never be thinned around the hairline, ears, or in the crown as a rule. A good stylist will be able to thin your hair with doing a chop job. Ask around, and ask for the manager or a head stylist at the salon you go to , to ensure a good job. Start with very little thinning and then maybe get more next time. You should only thin it once every two months or more.
