Hair wax, plastigel, setting lotion, What to use to hold a style?

I have fine thin hair that is short and damaged but it is super soft, so soft and thin that it won't hold a style. Is there something I can use other than mousse or gel that will not weigh it down since it's so fine and thin but will help hold a style when I use heat on it - curling iron or rollers.

a styling wax may help. they are alot stiffer. paul mitchell makes a good spray wax and styling wax. the only thing you'd want to avoid is using too much, because alot of times waxes are very matte and give no shine. i sometimes will go over wax products with a shine spray. hope this helps.
