My hair has always shedded a lot but I have a lot of hair. Now my stylist says my ends are thin.?

The top she says is thick. It could be from dandruff. I do not use a lot of heat. I did for about three or four months when I tried a new stylist. Does anyone have any suggestions?

sounds as if you are not shedding but that your hair is breaking off, there is a big difference; which would explain why the top of your hair is thick, but the ends are thinning.

i would suggest getting a few inches cut off the bottom, stop wearing your hair up in a pony tail or clip and make sure you condition, condition, condition.

how can just your ends be thin? Doesn't make sense. I would have to see a picture before I could say anything else.

do u have eating disorders or an unhealthy diet that could be the cause

Hairdressers are not scientists. I would not put once ounce of weight on something a hairdresser told me. Then again Im bald!!! Not really.

The hair near your head may be thick because it is closer together. The hair near the ends has more room to move, and it will seem lighter and airy and thin.

Look up what brushes are best, if you can find one, look at some independent studies to check out some real evidence.

Dont listen to shampoo companies or hairdressers, im pretty sure most of them wouldnt have undertaken any further study, otherwise they wouldnt talk about hair like it is actually alive.

It sounds like you have layers at the bottom of your hair and maybe you just need to let it grow out and and trim off the ends until it is all one length.

If you have thick hair, I wouldn't worry about it. People with thick hair often have a natural hair loss or thinning that should be of no concern. Try to remember that hair stylists are in the business of selling you products and services. You might want to try www.webmd.com concerning hair loss, but if you are not losing hair at its roots, then the thin ends "diagnosis" sounds like an uneducated diagnosis. Split ends can be easily managed by just having them well-cut.

Wow there could be alot of reasons for that: age, climate, hormone changes, etc. Ask your stylist why she thinks your hair ends are thin, if she dosent have a idea ask her if she knows of anyone in the area that specializes in finding solutions for hair problems. If worse comes to worse you can always ask your doctor, he/she can tell you what's wrong if it's something medical or if it's just normal.

do you do drugs if so that sounds like it or if you are on prescribed meds.
